Three product families, one project brief.

Choose by application and handling conditions first. Dimensions, material and surface details follow from the project inputs.

01

Ground Protection Mats

Temporary access and working surfaces for construction, utilities, landscaping, events and rental fleets.

Starting point
Routes, work areas and repeated site movement
Format
Common reference: 1.2 m × 2.4 m × 12 mm
02

Outrigger Pads

Plastic bearing pads for cranes, concrete pumps, access platforms and service vehicles.

Starting point
Defined support points beneath stabilizers
Format
Size and thickness selected by project enquiry
03

Engineering Plastic Sheets

HDPE and other plastic sheet formats for cutting, fabrication and industrial use.

Starting point
Fabricators, OEM supply and industrial components
Format
10–50 mm thickness; widths up to 3 m

Choose the surface around the work

These are real product surfaces. Tread choice supports traction and handling, but it does not replace project load and ground assessment.

Fine Anti-Slip Tread

Fine Anti-Slip Tread

Closely spaced raised ovals balance vehicle travel with pedestrian access.

Best use

  • Defined multi-directional surface texture.
  • Suitable starting point for mixed site traffic.

Selection notes

  • Confirm cleaning, mud shedding and footwear needs.
  • Traction still depends on contamination, slope and installation.
Large Traction Bars

Large Traction Bars

Higher, wider-spaced diagonal bars emphasize grip for demanding temporary routes.

Best use

  • More pronounced tread for vehicle access.
  • Open spacing helps distinguish the high-grip option.

Selection notes

  • Can be less comfortable for frequent pedestrian traffic.
  • Confirm wheel type, turning and cleaning conditions.
Smooth Wear-Resistant Sheet

Smooth Wear-Resistant Sheet

A smooth polymer face for truck bodies, hoppers, chutes and other low-friction liner applications.

Best use

  • Supports bulk-material movement and clean-out.
  • Provides a replaceable wear surface.

Selection notes

  • Not intended as a pedestrian anti-slip route.
  • Confirm material, temperature, abrasion, fastening and expansion.

10–50 mm is a selection range, not a load promise

The sample image shows the visual difference from 10 to 50 mm. Final thickness depends on axle or point load, ground, traffic, turning, braking, support and installation.

Plastic, steel and wood solve different problems

Compare handling, water resistance, reuse, surface contact, fabrication and limitations before choosing a temporary access material.

Plastic, steel and wood solve different problems
PE / UHMWPE panelsSteel plateWood panel
Weight & handlingLower handling weight than steel for comparable panel areas, subject to thickness.Heavy; machinery is commonly needed for movement.Often hand-movable in smaller sizes.
Water & corrosionDoes not rot; polymer resists water and corrosion. Can corrode unless the material or coating is protected. Can absorb water, swell, rot or delaminate.
ReuseDesigned for repeated deployment after inspection.Highly reusable when maintained and handled correctly.Reuse depends strongly on moisture and damage.
Ground contactGenerally gentler than bare steel when correctly selected and installed. Can mark finished surfaces and create hard edges.Contact can be softer, but splinters and fasteners need control.
CustomizationCutting, drilling, handles, tread or smooth surfaces. Can be cut, welded and fabricated by equipped suppliers.Easy to cut and drill with common tools.
Typical limitationRequires project-specific thickness and support; allow for expansion and slip conditions.Weight, corrosion, noise and handling can limit short-duration work.Variable strength, moisture response and short service life in harsh sites.

Start with four inputs.

  1. Ground or surface condition
  2. Vehicle, equipment and support points
  3. Route or working-area dimensions
  4. Handling, reuse and destination

TERRADON can discuss custom lengths and selected colors. Customer-logo customization is not available. Any suitability recommendation depends on the project conditions you provide.
